A NOTE FROM LAURI:
Explaining the example cards above. There are two example cards above. The objective is to add, subtract, multiply, and/or divide all four single and double digit numbers on a card, and get the answer 24.
Look at the first card, a 1-dot card, which has wheel numbers of (2, 6, 8, 24). Of course, your bright child will know that:
|
Add: 24 + 8 = 32 |
|
Subtract: 32 - 6 = 26 |
|
Subtract: 26 - 2 = 24 |
|
Summary Equation: 24 + 8 - 6 - 2 = 24 |
Now it's your turn. Look at the second card, a 2-dot card, which has a wheel numbers of (2, 6, 10, 11). Can you add, subtract, multiply and/or divide the wheel numbers for an answer of 24? (Check your answer under the "Learn More" tab!)
24 games emphasize critical thinking skills. As kids use cards that stretch their skills, they need to use their critical thinking skills to figure out the equations that work! These games are great!
The secret solution to the second example above!
Ssshhh! There are people here still trying to figure out the solution to the second card! But you know it, I'm sure! Here's the solution to the second card.
The wheel of numbers on the second card (2, 3, 4, 4) can be used:
| Multiply: 3 * 4 = 12 |
| Multiply: 12 * 4 = 48 |
| Divide: 48 ÷ 2 = 24 |
| Summary Equation: (3 * 4 * 4) ÷ 2 = 24 |
