We are sorry, but we cannot ship science kits with chemicals out of the country for several reasons.
1. Countries generally do not allow chemicals to be imported without a specific export/import license. Licenses are available through a rigorous process for wholesale importers who import large quantities of their products for manufacturing and/or re-sale purposes.
2. For Canada: Chem C2000 and Chem C3000 CANNOT be shipped to Canada, due to one chemical which is illegal to import into Canada. This chemical, Potassium Permanganate, has been linked to the production of illegal drugs. Unfortunately, it is our understanding that these two products are no longer available for sale in Canada because of this chemical.
3. For Canada: Thames & Kosmos science kits with chemicals, store these chemicals in tubes with red caps. These storage tubes are not consistent with Canadian standards for chemical storage, and therefore cannot be imported into Canada. Thames & Kosmos science kits that include chemicals are: Chem C500, Chem C1000, Chem C2000, Chem C3000, Milestones in Science, and Elements of Science.

Chemistry sets require more attention to safety. When we first used this set, I felt I was a bit naive about the care that is required with using chemistry sets at home that actually get into "real" chemistry. I encourage you to provide *outstanding* adult supervision when your child is using chemistry sets.
Great hands-on science supplement for home or homeschool. This kind of science experimentation is not generally offered at an elementary school level, so this kind of product is a way that families can truly offer their children a valuable extension to science offerings from school, or as a hands-on homeschool chemistry experience. It's a fabulous hands-on experience for children!
High quality home chemistry set. The quality of the set, and the quality of the manual are really superb. About the time we bought this set, we were given another chemistry set (much cheaper) which had all plastic parts and we worked the chemistry sets side-by-side with two kids. We were far happier with this C1000 chemistry set because we found the plastic pieces in the other set to be cheap and difficult to use, AND because the manual in this C1000 chemistry was far superior.
Chem C1000, C2000, and C3000 are all closely linked together as a family of chemistry sets. Each chemistry set is inclusive. This means that all the experiments in Chem C1000 are included in Chem C2000. Chem C2000 uses the C1000 experiments plus additional experiments with additional chemicals. Likewise, all the Chem C1000 and C2000 experiments are included in the Chem C3000 chemistry set. Chem C3000 adds more experiments and chemicals in addition to the previous chemistry sets. As of 2009, Thames and Kosmos offers "upgrades" to C2000 and C3000. If you start with C1000 and want to continue building chemistry skills, rather than buying a higher level chemistry set that repeats some of the experiments, you can upgrade to C2000 or C3000. Likewise, if you start with C2000, you can upgrade to C3000. This upgrade capability is a terrific reason to try the Thames and Kosmos chemistry sets!
