MATH PATH problems challenge you to complete a string of simple equations.

At first, you're solving for the final number in the series. As you practice and progress, the puzzles challenge you to find missing numbers from inside the path!

Each puzzle encourages you to think sideways, backwards, and come up with other creative ways to solve the puzzle.

Level A: Grades 2-4. The first 30 Level A puzzles start with addition and subtraction equations. The last 20 puzzles add a simple multiplication or division operation (2s, 3s, 4s, 5s) as part of the MATH PATH. For the first 15 problems, kids perform the operations along the path to come up with the final answer. For the final 35 problems, the goal is to find solutions within the path, encouraging early algebra skills. There are 53 problems in the book, with one problem on each page and space for kids to write out equations.

 

Level B: Grades 4-6. Level B puzzles start with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division operations. They increase in difficulty by encouraging early algebra skills by solving for the middle of the puzzle rather than at the end. In addition, the numbers in the path are in place, but kids need to figure out the operators for the numbers.There are 53 problems in the book, with one problem on each page and space for kids to write out equations.
