"SQUARE UP" Game Description:

A fast and furious two-player tile-sliding game. Players shake their individual cube sorter and then slide the tiles on their board to make the same pattern as on their cube sorter.

Sound easy? It is, but the race is on! The first player to solve the pattern and slap down the frame around the solution wins.

This great best-seller can be played against an opponent, or against the clock, or just for non-timed puzzle playing fun!

SQUARE UP is truly a unique visual thinking game that will have your fingers and brain moving simultaneously!

    A NOTE FROM LAURI:

This is our #1 seller, and for good reason! The two boards have 5 by 5 color tiles, with one missing to allow for sliding the tiles around. The shaker creates a 3 by 3 color pattern. The objective is to move the tiles around on the 5 by 5 board so that the middle 9 tiles (3 by 3) have the same pattern as the shaker.

Kids can play the game by themselves, or they can play as a race between two kids. If they are playing as a race, you can either have them shake their own shakers, or you can have them shake just one shaker so they are trying to achieve the same pattern. Depending on where the tiles are on the board, luck can shake an easier or harder pattern to copy. If there are kids shouting "No Fair!", then have them use just one shaker and try to get the same pattern.

Encourages logic and spatial skills via touch. I love how this game uses patterns, encourages logic and planning to move around the pieces, helps build spatial skills, and is tactile in nature. The tiles are 1.25" squares, and are a great size for smaller fingers to manipulate.

SQUARE UP is great for learning - and it is FUN, too!

    The Classroom's Favorite Puzzle March 3, 2010
Reviewer: Rivendell School 4th & 5th Grades from Fort Collins, CO United States
    Overall: 5 stars
    From 1 girl (5 stars):
This is my favorite puzzle, and is the favorite of lots of kids in the class. It is always my first choice to play. Sometimes it is pretty difficult to get some of the colors into the right place, and that's what makes it fun. I always play this by myself rather than against someone.

    From 1 boy (5 stars):
This is my favorite puzzle or game (besides Khet). It is a challenge to move the squares into places. Sometimes I shake the shaker to try to get the same color but it never works! Two classmates showed me how to play. I usually pick Square Up first, and I play it more than I play any of the other games or puzzles.

    From 1 boy (5 stars):
Square Up is my first choice to play, I don't even have to think about it. I don't know why I like it so much, but I can work it on my own. It's a fun game to play by yourself. It is very addicting, and fun to play over and over. It is a more restful puzzle than Rush Hour, but it is really fun. I didn't know you could play it competitively. That sounds fun now that I know you can play that way. I usually choose a game when there are other people to play with, and I choose Square Up when I finish assignments early and need to fill my time by myself.
