Introduce robotics to your young engineer with this sampler of fun-to-assemble robots!
Build 3 versions of your robot, with each one operating in a different way.
The Remote Control Robot operates by flashing an infra-red beam onto the front of the robot - any TV or stereo remote control will start the robot moving!
The Wake Me Robot is sensitive to light. As soon as the sensor detects light, natural light or artificial light, it moves forward and makes noise. Place the robot next to the window at night, and in the morning when it becomes light, the robot will buzz and move forward!
The Guide Robot uses a sensor that detects obstacles in the way. As soon as it detects something in front of it, this robot will go backwards to avoid the obstacle!
First, you will build the chassis which will be used with all 3 robot versions by attaching wheels, a motor, and a gearbox cover. Next, decide which robot you want to try first! Attach the module using screws and spring-coil connectors, attach the robot body with screws, and insert the batteries into the chassis. You are now ready for fun!
This kit will introduce the concept of sensors, and provides an opportunity to see how spring-coils work. Kids can see what a circuit board looks like! WOW! It's easy and fun!
