A classic family game |

This is a great family game with a huge bonus: it can also be played alone, or with virtually any number of people (practically, 4 or 5 is a max, but you could play it with more). And as a set of cards, its super easy to transport.
We started out with just one color (so there were only two variables instead of 3), but quickly moved to all 3. This is a game where my son, who is very bright but sometimes lacks persistence, would really hunker down and concentrate, even if it took a long time to see it. The nice thing is, unlike a game of checkers or such where you can just make a dumb move, you can only "find it" or "not find it" in this game. This used to frustrate my then 4-year old, but he'd stick to it. While the game has rules, we often modified them to make it more fun for him when he was younger. Now, the only mod we do is that we take turns, instead of going by speed. Its not as competitive, but it works best for us that way.
